The aim of this project is to help overcoming the stigma attached to people suffering from mental disease. For this purpose, the project resorts to different artistic manifestations, as a strategy to promote a more contemporary presence within the community. Through design, (Re)desenhar a Doença Mental ([Re]designing Mental Illness), intends to procure a means of raising awareness to this issue in ten European nations. This project raises issues usually associated to empowerment, recovery and well-being. This is a way of creating artistic and communication resources that are likely to help dealing with the way this topics are perceived. That is why a picture of a printer shop was chosen, as its form will elicit from the viewer a reflection on the limits of legibility and letter recognition.
